Wilfred A. Karsten, 89, of North Allis Township, passed away September 12, 2013 in Onaway.

He was born May 14, 1924 in Ocqueoc Township to William and Martha (Sorgenfrei) Karsten.

Mr. Karsten is survived by his wife, Linda; three children, Fred (Ruth) Karsten of Allis Township, Susan (Dick) Freel of Cedarville and Betty (Jim) Musser of Onaway; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorene Dittmar of Millersburg and Delores (Dick) Bruning of Rogers City; and a brother, Billy Karsten of Millersburg.

Visitation was at the Beck Funeral Home Saturday through time of his funeral service where the Rogers City Veterans of Foreign Wars offered a military tribute.

Interment took place at Elm Hill Cemetery in Onaway.

Memorials may be given to the Leukemia Society of Michigan in memory of Wilfred Karsten.
