OHS boys first, girls second at RC cross country meet

The Onaway High School boys placed first, while the Cardinal girls finished second at Saturday’s Maurice Dewey Invitational cross country meet near Rogers City.

Joe Traynham led the way in the boys’ race, finishing first among the 40 competitors. Morgan McLean was fourth, Joe O’Bradovich was sixth, Cameron Horn was 10th, Preston Badgero was 11th, and Felipe Janeczek was 20th.

Signe Magnussen and Claire Bastian finished fifth and sixth in the girls’ race to lead the way for the Cards. Kate Olmsted was 10th, Hannah Materna was 12th, Tiffany Traynham was 16th, and Maddy Watts was 18th.

Luke Rasper finished seventh, while Matt Grant was 12th, in the middle school race.

The cross country team, which was scheduled to run Wednesday at Wilderness State Park, will compete Saturday at Central Lake.
