Class of 2013 features 34 graduates

Valedictorian Brooklyn Idalski and salutatorian Daniel Pflug of Rogers City High School.

One of the smallest classes will graduate this weekend from Rogers City High School.

According to principal David O’Bryant, 34 have earned enough credits to graduate from the school with the Class of 2013.

Of those, 21 have earned honors for their academic achievements.

Brooklyn Idalski, daughter of Joel and Robin Idalski, is the valedictorian of the class. Daniel Pflug, son of Christopher and Athena Pflug is the salutatorian. Each will deliver their address during Sunday’s commencement.

Class night is set for Thursday at 6:30 p.m. highlighted by an awards presentation, coordinated by high school counselor Marilyn Dimick and a slide presentation by Ashley Adams and Christopher Bark.

The class history, prophecy and giftatory for the class only will follow at Karsten’s Luncheonette.

Commencement will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the high school.

Class officers are MaKayla Thompson, president; Christopher Bark, vice president; Ashley Adams, secretary; and Anna Lehman, treasurer. Vivian Bruder served as class sponsor.

Diplomas will be awarded by school board president Mike Marx, assisted by board members Lee Gapczynski, Bryan Hall, Corey Budnick, John Krajenta, Donald Kromer and Deedra Schalk-Haselhuhn.
