Shirley R. Freel, 92, of Millersburg, died at home Friday, March 15, 2013. The daughter of Marshall Edward and Mary (Putman) Mason, Shirley was born July 26, 1920 in Onaway. She married George O. Freel in Onaway June 29, 1940.

Surviving Shirley is her husband of nearly 73 years, George Freel, of Millersburg; son, Mitch (Denise) Freel of Rogers City; daughters, Terry Crooks of Benzonia and Georgia Houser of Norman, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
