Six to compete for title of Miss Onaway 2011

On Saturday, June 25, the stage at the Onaway High School will be taken over by six lovely contestants as they compete for the title of Miss Onaway 2011. Under the direction of Kymberli Wregglesworth, contestants have been busy preparing for that one night as they will be judged in five categories.

Tayler Walker, Abby Nash, Faith Chapman, Temara Lupu, Myranda Anglin and Taylor Price will be judged in an interview, an opening number, a talent presentation, evening gown and an on-stage question. In addition to the five categories contestants will by vying for awards for most photogenic, miss congeniality and the ticket sales award.

ent presentations, work on their poise and ensure they know every step of an opening number routine to Lady GaGa?s ?Born this Way?. The song talks about loving who you are, no matter what, a good lesson for these six young ladies.

TICKETS FOR the show are available from any contestant or Wregglesworth. Ticket sales money supports the scholarship fund for the queen and first runner-up. Miss Onaway 2011 will receive a $1,250 college scholarship upon completion of one year in college and a community service project. The first runner-up receives a $500 scholarship upon the completion of one year of college.

As this year?s contestants are busy preparing for their big night, Miss Onaway 2010 Katie Robins is seeing her year reigning as queen coming to an end. Robins and 2010 talent winner Molly Ellenberger will provide entertainment during the show, as the contestants get ready for the next portion of the pageant.
