Sara Fullerton crowned 2011 PI County Fair queen

Sara Fullerton is the new queen of the Presque Isle County Fair and Linnea Hentkowski is the new junior queen after the pageant Wednesday. Fullerton was crowned by outgoing queen Kelleigh Lamb before a packed house in the Case Township Hall Wednesday.

Sara is the daughter of Rod and Amy Fullerton of Onaway and will be entering the tenth grade at Onaway High School in the fall. She won the talent portion of the event with a dance to “Here I Am.” She also won the coordination, evening gown and public speaking awards.

Nicole Bannasch, daughter of Scott and Sue Bannasch of Rogers City, was first runner-up while Kari Ataman, daughter of John and Lisa Ataman of Posen, earned the title of second runner-up. Hentkowski, who will be a fifth-grader in Rogers City next school year, is the daughter of Matthew and Laura Hentkowski. She won the evening gown and coordination awards.

First runner up in the junior queen pageant was Ally McCord while Desiree? Smillie was second runner-up.

The new queens and their courts will welcome people to the county fair, which begins today in Millersburg. After that they will have a busy year representing the county fair at various events.
