Board president Mike Marx said he would be working out the details about what the next step is going to be as the week progressed. ?I have to get with my fellow board members and find out what they want to do,? said Marx Tuesday. Makowski is wrapping up her second school year in Rogers City. She was hired in July 2009.

The school board decided at its May 6 special meeting to see if there was any interest from within, as a first step in the process. Superintendent Jamie Huber announced he would be resigning to take an administrative position with the Cheboygan-Otsego-Presque Isle Educational Service District at the end of April.
