Sgt. Skuse proudly serving in Afghanistan

Sgt. Tony Skuse, a 2005 graduate of Onaway High School, son of Victoria Skuse and Alan Moran and grandson of Harriette Rex, all of Onaway, has been serving in the U.S. Army since enlisting in 2006.

He completed One Site Unit Training (OSUT) at Ft. Benning, Georgia and is currently stationed at Fort Drum, New York with the 2-22 Infantry where he is a mortar man. Skuse returned from deployment in Afghanistan just in time for Christmas 2010. While in Afghanistan Tony?s unit trained members of the Afghan National Army. Sergeant Skuse has also completed a year-long deployment to Iraq.

In January 2010 he married Jo Ann Gomez of Bakersfield, California. This summer, Tony and his wife will be relocating to Joint Base Lewis McChord near Tacoma, Washington to be near his siblings, Tonya and Michael, who reside in Kent, Washington. Tony is thankful for the support (and baked goods) he’s received from the local community, including the Veterans of Foreign Wars and churches, while he has been deployed.

The Outlook is interested in hearing about all of the local service men and women who are serving the country and would publish a picture and similar information about their military paths. E-mail the information to Advancepete@speednetllc.com, or contact us and a reporter will follow up.
