Local Marine serving in Yuma, Arizona

Marine Pvt. 1st Class Jamie McKenzie is currently stationed at Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma Arizona. The 2009 Presque Isle Academy graduate received 10 months of schooling in Pensacola, Florida and Cherry Hill, North Carolina, and has been assigned the duties of airframe mechanic.

Kateri Stiles of Onaway, left for San Diego, California for 13 weeks of boot camp, which his mother said he enjoyed. He graduated in April 2010 before receiving training for his current job. He expects to be deployed later this year, but his family doesn?t know where that is going to be. He signed up for five years in the corps.
