Local airman serving in Minot

Airman 1st Class Keegan Veihl is currently stationed at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota.

The May 2009 Onaway High School graduate enrolled in the Delayed Enlistment Program on Veterans Day 2008. He began basic training Aug. 4, 2009 at Lackland Air Force Base (AFB), San Antonio, Texas. Upon graduation with honors Oct. 2, 2009, he attended tech school for 12 weeks at Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, Texas.

At present his assigned duties remain confidential due to security. In Keegan?s recent phone visit with his parents, he expressed his appreciation for the thoughts and prayers given by family, friends and the community supporting all service men and women. It gives him great pride being an airman serving his country.

Veihl, the son of Randy and Benita Veihl of Onaway, has with pride and honor dedicated the next six years to the Air Force, with possible plans of making the military his career.
