Hurons and Vikings meet in regional Monday

For the first time in history, Rogers City and Posen boys’ basketball teams will square off in tournament action. The game takes place Monday in the regional semifinals at St. Ignace after Posen and Rogers City each won district titles Friday night.

Rogers City won its third straight district title, a feat never accomplished in Huron basketball history, with a 67-53 win over a stubborn Burt Lake Christian squad. Devin Hilla scored 15 points, Jesse Wilbert had 14 and Austin Brege added 12

Posen defeated Fairview for the third time this season, defending home court in a 58-51 win.

The game will be the second of the evening, coming after the 5:30 p.m game featuring Cedarville and Pellston. The RC vs. Posen game tips off at 7:45 p.m.

Posen has competed in Class D for many years while this is the first season the Hurons are in Class D, after competing in Class C since the early 1970s after dropping from Class B.
