Race organizer Denny Paull was prepared to alter the course, change the starting line and make every effort possible to see the race go off as scheduled but the weather just didn?t cooperate.

Paull posted the cancellation on his trail report at www.nordicskiracer.com Wednesday. ?A decision regarding vending for the event had to be reached by Thursday noon. With another 30 hours of predicted warm weather after noon on Thursday, with an already thin base, the only logical decision was to cancel,? stated Paull.

Those who preregistered for the event will receive free registration to next year?s event. The race proceeds are used for grooming efforts by the Thunder Bay Trails Association to make Black Mountain the premier ?destination? ski course in Northeast Michigan.
