Hurons finish second at conference

ons were Travis Fleis (125), Greg Tulgestke (145), Daniel Marx (152) and Andrew Selke (215).

Fleis won by pin in three minutes, then won a 5-3 overtime match to reach the finals. In the finals Fleis fell to Sault Ste. Marie?s Michael James 5-1. Tulgestke earned his 100th career victory in his first match of the day, a 7-2 decision over Onaway?s Tommy McDade. In the finals Tulgestke fell to Mio?s Dylan Jensen 2-0. Marx won an 11-9 decision before falling 5-4 to St. Ignace?s Lou Radecki in the finals. Selke won by pin in 45 seconds before falling by pin to St. Ignace?s Joe Ostman in 3:10 to place second.

Jack Ryan (119) was third and Noah Sobeck (103) was fourth to round out the placing for the Hurons. WEDNESDAY THE Hurons were in St. Ignace for the team district tournament. They will be in Munising Saturday for individual districts. Team regionals are scheduled for next Wednesday in St. Ignace while the Hurons host the individual regional tournament on Feb. 19.
