Basketball fans to double their pleasure; girls garner top ranking

A pair of basketball doubleheaders are on tap at Posen High School Saturday afternoon against visiting Brimley. The varsity boys and girls will play back-to-back games in the new gym starting at 2 p.m. with the girls tipping things off first, with the boys’ game to follow around 3:30 p.m. The girls were ranked third in the Michigan Associated Press? first Class D rankings of the season.

The varsity clubs are combined 12-0 on the season. The girls started a little earlier and are two games ahead with a 7-0 record. The junior varsity boys and girls will be doing their thing in the friendly-confines of the old gym. The boys hit the hardwood at 2 p.m., while the girls get their turn in game two. Before Saturday?s matinee doubleheaders, the boys are at home tonight taking on defending conference champ, Hale, while the girls are at Hale tomorrow, who took their licks Tuesday at Alcona.
