Glass took first at the school, and then she moved on to compete against the top spellers from other schools. After spelling about 40 words, Glass spelled s-o-j-o-u-r-n to take home the $100 and earn the right to return to Cheboygan with a shot at going to state. She may have thoughts of making it all the way to Washington , D.C., but for now she’s proud of her early accomplishments.

“I’m just happy I won districts, and I’m good with that,” she said. Regionals, sponsored by the Cheboygan Tribune, is back at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
