The Posen girls? basketball would like to pick up where they left off at the end of the 2009-10 season. Winners of 13 of 16, the Vikings won a district title and ended their season in the regional tournament at St. Ignace. Coach Karl Momrik?s squad finished with a 15-8 record. With nearly everyone back, there?s an air of optimism surrounding the 2010-11 club. Momrik hopes to avoid the slow start from a year ago and still wonders how they will mesh on the court.

One question doesn?t need answering. The girls are ready go. ?The girls are real excited to get the season started,? said Momrik. ?We look to have a real good season. ?We had five girls who scored more than 100 points. It should be an interesting year.? The Vikings defeated Alcona twice and the Tigers are expected to be young. The junior varsity will be first to start the season Tuesday at 6 p.m. Posen will then be on the road for three straight, including a trip to Mio.
