Junior Amanda Smolinski had 10 set assists, 11 kills and one dig in Tuesday?s match. Junior Linnea Brege also added 10 set assists along with nine ace serves on the night. Sophomore Lindsey Claus had four blocks in the match while senior Becca Peacock had seven kills and one ace. Senior libero Emily Marx had eight digs and two ace serves while senior Taylor Darling had four digs.

?They played spirited tonight. They ran some really good plays. We have been focusing a lot on blocking and passing and I think they executed that well tonight. Lindsey (Claus) had a good night blocking. They (Newberry) didn?t really come back at us with a lot of attacks so we didn?t get to work as much on blocking as I would have liked to. All and all it was a good night,? said coach Kristy Smolinski. The Hurons have the weekend off as it is homecoming in Rogers City. They will host Rudyard Tuesday and their home tournament next Saturday.
