The long wait for the start of the 2010 season finally came to an end on Tuesday for the Posen volleyball

team (1-0, 1-0) with a three-game sweep of host Hale, 25-22, 25-17 and 25-15. ?It was nice,? said head coach John Dietlin. ?We played very well. We had a few hiccups here and there, but it was just a matter of the first-game jitters. We worked through it, which was great.? Senior setter Lindsay Ponik had three ace serves to set a new career record with 110, as she surpassed Jenny Ciarkowski. Ponik also had 14 assists. Senior Lindsay Bartz had seven kills, while senior LeAnn Strzelecki had five. ?The mental focus was great to see, considering we hadn?t played yet, I was impressed with that,? the coach added.

?We have a couple of things to work on, some minor tweaks, and we?ll progress forward and see what happens on Thursday.? The girls are heading back down M-65 today as they play at Arenac Eastern and another road game Tuesday at Mio. They are finally home next Thursday. The junior varsity also came back victorious. They won their first two games, before dropping the third.
