With the finishing touches done at today?s dress rehearsal, the six contestants for Miss Rogers City 2010 will be ready for Friday?s pageant. The 2010 Nautical City Queen?s Pageant is set for Friday at 7 p.m. at Rogers City High School (RCHS). Co-directors Brianne Jaeger and Lisa Coolman have prepared six contestants for the pageant, all of whom will be seniors at RCHS in the fall. Assisting the directors will be Theresa Kuchinski, Wendy Martin, Milissa Bannon and Cathy Wisniewski.

That means the reign of Miss Rogers City 2009, Julie LaBar will soon come to an end. The daughter of Dana and Michelle LaBar has been an ambassador for Rogers City at many events throughout the year, along with her court. The current Miss Rogers City will also perform at Friday?s pageant as will 2009 contestant

Tayler Bannasch, who shared the talent award with LaBar at last year?s pageant.

This year the pageant will feature an appearance by Miss Michigan 2009, Nicole Blaszczyk, who will also be performing her talent presentation. In order of appearance, the 2010 contestants are: Stephanie Crocker, the daughter of Matthew and Cindy Crocker; Emily Marx, the daughter of Scott and Mary Marx; Tara Smith, the daughter of Chuck and Kim Miskey; Rachel Lewandowski, the daughter of Fred and Lori Lewandowski, Leilani Kortman, the daughter of Rob and Lisa Kortman; and Erika Kuznicki, daughter of Jeff and Irene Kuznicki.

The winner will receive a $1,000 college scholarship while the runner-up earns a $500 scholarship from the Nautical City Festival Committee, Inc. Ashley Basel and Kaitlin Klingshirn choreographed the opening dance to the song ?I Gotta Feeling? by the Black Eyed Peas. Joe Brewbaker will serve as master of ceremonies for the first time after doing a fine job in the same role at the County Fair Queen?s Pageant in June. Rex Manning will handle the sound and lighting. Tickets are available at the door at the cost of $8 for adults and $5 for children under age 12.
