It was a rebuilding year for the Posen boys? basketball team, who finished with a record of 6-14 and lost its first district game in five years. With the end of the season come post season awards. Sophomore Shane Hentkowski was a second team North Star League (NSL) selection, leading the team with 292 points (14.6 per game average). He was the only sophomore mentioned in the NSL voting.

Junior Scott Couture was not far behind with 248 points. He was the best free-throw shooter on the team as he made 70 percent of his shots. Couture was named as an all-conference honorable mention.

Senior Aaron Romel?s 3.3 points a game wasn?t the most flashy statistic, but he quietly led the team with 67 assists and was second in rebounds with 95. The other graduating seniors include Tyson Klecha (112 points, 3rd highest) and Tyler Krajniak (74, 4th).

?I believe most of the players know now that it takes year round commitment,? said coach Steve Hentkowski, in his closing comments on the season. ?I?m proud of the way this team competed every game, they never gave in. ?With a group of seniors returning and some talented underclassmen, we should be able to improve on our record.?
