A crime wave covering three counties resulted in a total of 29 felony charges against four male subjects, three from Onaway and one from Tower.

Kenneth Dangler III, 22, of Tower and Anthony Dempsey, 22, of Onaway face the bulk of the charges and remained jailed in Rogers City as of Tuesday morning. Dangler faces 10 counts, while Dempsey has nine to answer to.

Christopher Preston, 22, of Onaway and Kevan Peters, 18, of Onaway face 10 total charges together and have bonded out.

Sgt. John Kasuba of the Presque Isle County Sheriff?s Department said 10 breaking and enterings occurred in Presque Isle County, two in Emmet, while Cheboygan County?s number has yet to be determined. ,p. The first break-in was called in December 17 by Eric Rose, who reported that his mother-in-laws garage along Bonz Beach Highway had been entered. Rose said it appeared that neighboring residents were victimized as well.

FRESH FOOTPRINTS indicated three subjects using a large pickup truck were involved. Since September there had been similar breaking and enterings in the same area, all involving vacant homes or hunting camps. In each case there were a variety of items stolen.

In early January, a tire impression collected at one of the crimes was linked to a person of interest in the investigation. Officers continued to collect information about the suspect and the friends he hung out with, until a break in the case occurred February 18, that involved ?old-fashioned police work,? the details of which cannot be released at this time.

Much of the merchandise, including stolen snowmobiles and guns, have been recovered, but other items have been sold, according to the incident report. Dangler told investigators most of the items were sold on ebay on his mother?s computer.

The preliminary examinations for all four subjects are scheduled for Tuesday in 89th District Court.
