Better late than never; New Year?s Baby arrives

by Angie Asam. Staff Writer

After waiting nearly a month, The Outlook’s New Year?s Baby 2009 has finally arrived.

Winter Rose Hogan was born January 28 at 12:50 p.m. at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital to parents Stephanie Geikowski and Mark Hogan of Onaway.

Winter weighed 7 pounds 10 _ ounces and measured 18 _ inches in length. She was welcomed home by two older brothers, Dillon Geikowski, 4, and Noah Hogan, 11-months.

Geikowski wasn?t due until February 2 but Winter was ready to arrive and everything

went smoothly. ?She is a very good baby and Dillion is my little helper. Both the boys like having a little sister,? said Stephanie.

Grandparents are Julie Bishop of Onaway and Dustine Geikowski of Phoenix, Arizona. Great-grandparents are Delores Williams of Onaway and Daniel Hicks of Toledo, Ohio.

Winter spent two days in the hospital before coming home to Onaway. One of Winter?s aunts suspected she might be the first baby born in the school district in the new year, and just when Stephanie was going to go to the Outlook office to see if that was the case she received a phone call and a visit.

As most newborns do, Winter slept through the photos and the interview but never made a sound as mom dressed her and got her ready for her newspaper debut.
