With the competition set in St. Ignace, a small bowling alley, only the boys were in action this Saturday while the girls will travel to St. Ignace later in the season. The Hurons continued their dominance of the Northern Michigan Bowling Conference by winning both matches Saturday to take their record to 5-0 on the season.

In match one against the Gaylord Gold team, the Hurons would surrender just one point to take the match 29-1. The Hurons would roll baker games of 216 and 164 to win both games as well as the totals 380-317 putting them up 10-0 heading into the regular games.

In game one Gaylord would win their lone point as Sean Michaels rolled a 267 game to beat Robert Dietlin who rolled a 212. Rogers City would win the game 950-894. In game two the Hurons really shined as they won 956-634 and took the totals 1906-1528.

Devon Ferris and Alec Gajewski would both roll back-to-back 200 games in the match. Ferris threw a 203 and 220 while Gajewski rolled a 204 and a 225. Lucas Bellmore rolled a 159 in the first game before being replaced by Tony Bannasch who rolled a 184 game in game two. Tom Darga rolled a 172 and a 167 and Dietlin rolled a 212 and 160.

Dietlin would not bowl in match two against St. Ignace due to a thumb injury, but the Hurons would roll on without him. After losing both baker games 170-181 and 219-223 as well as the totals 389-404 the Hurons found themselves in a 0-10 hole going into the regular games.

In game one Rogers City would take all but one individual point and the game to cut the deficit to 8-10 winning 951-7886. Game two would tell the same story as the Hurons rolled a 952 to take the game and the totals 1903-1639 and win the match 17-13. After giving up 10 early points the Hurons would surrender just three in the final two games to earn the

come-from-behind victory.

?The St. Ignace match was exciting as we came back to win the match 17-13. The boys did a nice job of adjusting, they did not get frustrated in the match, they made the proper adjustments and got the win,? said coach Brian Bannasch.

Gajewski would prove why he leads the conference with an average of 200.4 as he again rolled back-to-back 200 games (201, 211). Ferris would complete a nice day at the lanes rolling a 213 and a 192. Bellmore rolled a 167 and 188, Darga rolled a 206 and 200 and Tony Bannasch, who stepped in for Dietlin, rolled a 164 and 161 in the Huron win.

The Hurons are back in action this Saturday in Cheboygan where both teams will participate. Action begins at 10 a.m. as the teams look to continue their undefeated conference dominance.
