Book to benefit Toys for Tots

Peg Herring?s newest release has two things going for it. First, it?s part of a collection of short stories focused on the holidays, which makes it a great Christmas gift for the mystery reader on anyone?s list, and second, the profits go to an excellent cause, Toys for Tots.

The anthology, titled ?Dying in a Winter Wonderland,? includes Herring?s short story ?Happy Holidays Times Three.?

It?s an account of three not-so-wise men who plan Christmas crimes but have to deal with a corpse that won?t go away.

Other stories in the book range from heart-warming to rib tickling, from strippers in Santa suits to murder as a Christmas gift for dear old Mom. All in all, readers get 13 little holiday treats.

Each year, Wolfmont Press releases a mystery anthology to benefit Toys for Tots, the US Marine Corps? project to brighten the holidays for needy children.

When the Marines do something, it?s done well, and Toys for Tots has an excellent rating among charities for efficient use of funds.

It is hoped that ?Dying in a Wonderland,? will raise at least $3,000 for the organization. ?My story came into my head when Tony Burton, the editor at Wolfmont, put out the call to authors to come up with a Christmas crime story,? said Herring. ?I had fun with it, and the book is getting good reviews from readers.? The anthology is available on Amazon.com.
