Three Hurons earn all-conference honors

Seniors Zak McLennan and Kaylee Kreft as well as junior Greta Grambau earned all-conference honors in cross country last Tuesday. McLennan finished ninth in the conference for the boys? team that finished fourth in the conference overall. Grambau was seventh in the conference and Kreft was eighth for the fifth place Huron team. Rogers City hosted the final Straits Area Conference meet last Tuesday and both teams finished the race in fifth place.

Grambau led the girls? team with a seventh place finish in 22:50, Kreft was not far behind finishing eighth at 22:54. Jami Horn was 30th at 24:44, Sierra Centala was 31st at 24:47, Amy Hughes was 50th at 26:44, Lauren Muszynski was 62nd at 29:28 and Jessica Ruppert was 68th at 31:22. McLennan finished the race in ninth place at 19:18. Freshman Joe Sobeck who is really coming on as the season progresses finished 22nd at 20:06 and

missed being all-conference by three places. Aaron Wilbert finished in 28th place at 20:25, Justin LaLonde was 33rd at 20:41, Lucas Trapp was 61st at 22:17, Eddie Lloyd was 63rd at 22:24, Andy Derry was 64th at 22:44, Vincent Kuznicki was 82nd at 25:50 and Jonathon Burns wa 91st at 29:10.

In the middle school boys? race Shawn Roby was 23rd at 15:35 and Daniel Pflug was 34th at 17:03. Roby finished the season 22nd in the conference while Pflug was 32nd. In the girls? race Bailey Andrzejewski was 27th at 16:48 and Alysse Hemple was 32nd at 17:06. Andrzejewski finished 21st in the conference while Hemple was 26th.

The Huron cross country teams return to action this Saturday at Inland Lakes, the last regular meet of the season before regionals in East Jordan on October 24.
