Little League?s post season starts Saturday

With a flip of the calendar, the Little League season is upon us, with playoff all-star games beginning as soon as this holiday weekend. Five all-star squads from the Rogers City Little League program will be competing this year. Family, friends and fans of the 2008 Major Girls better camp out in Onaway this weekend, as the first pitch of the opening round is Saturday at 4 p.m. against the host team. The Onaway program has made a mark in the playoffs in recent years and will be a force to be reckoned with.

The Junior and Major Boys get things going Sunday. The Junior boys will be at Harbor Springs taking on Tri-Rivers at noon. The Major boys will be at Indian River, with the first pitch against Tri-Rivers getting thrown out at 2:30 p.m.

Both the Minor Girls and Boys get to practice for another week, as they don?t begin action until July 14. The boys will be at Petoskey taking on the home team, with a 7 p.m. start. The girls will be at Cheboygan for a game against Harbor Springs. They get started at 7 p.m.
