Nowicki property transfer was to begin this week

The county was ready this week to make the first large payment to Philip J. Nowicki, III and Michelle R. Nowicki, to acquire commercial property at the intersection of North Third Street and East Huron Avenue, as well as a residential dwelling and a lot for parking. According to county chairman Allan Bruder, the warranty deed was ready to be signed at the title company as of Tuesday. Once the signatures are in place the process of transferring the property can begin. Bruder was expecting the parties to sign an agreement Wednesday (past press time).
The Nowickis will receive a check in the amount of $109,000. ?Our intentions are to totally pay for the property by the end of May,? said Bruder. The total price for acquisition of the parcels is $210,000. The issue was briefly discussed at last Friday?s Presque Isle County Board of Commissioners? meeting.
THE PARTIES signed a purchase and sale agreement February 8. In doing so, the county gave the Nowickis a $1,000 deposit on the properties. In addition, $99,000 will be signed in a promissory note, payable on or before May 30, with the
