Arnold Line G.M. to be feature speaker at RC chamber event

The Rogers City Area Chamber of Commerce will be conducting their annual meeting Wednesday (November 7) at the Water?s Edge Restaurant. The program will begin at 6 p.m. with hors d?oeurves and refreshments, including a cash bar. The annual meeting will begin at 7 p.m. The event will include a Chinese auction, 50/50 drawing, elk viewing package, and a muzzleloader raffle. Advance tickets are available at 292 South Bradley Highway. There will be an increased cost at the door.

?(THE ANNUAL MEETING) symbolizes cooperation and collaboration between the chamber and all area businesses, service clubs, civic organizations and groups which are working hard to enrich and improve lives in Rogers City,? said new executive director Dave Snow, ?so we are celebrating that partnership, of everyone working together for common goals.?

an opportunity for local chamber members to meet the new administrator. ?This will be a great opportunity for me to meet a lot of folks,? said Snow. ?It?ll be a great opportunity for me to be able to talk to them and get their feelings, and where they are coming from on certain areas of Rogers City.?

THE GUEST speaker for the evening will be Robert Brown, general manager of Arnold Transit Company. In 1977, Mr. Brown became general manager of the Mackinaw City operation and in 1981 he became general manager of the entire Arnold Transit Company. Brown holds a degree in business administration from Albion College.

During his years as manager at Arnold Transit he has held the position as president of the Great Lakes Ferry Boat Association, member of the Mackinaw City Chamber of Commerce, and president of the Upper Peninsula Tourism and Recreation Board. In 2005, Gov. Jennifer Granholm appointed Brown to the Michigan State Waterways Commission.
