Tulgestke named Valedictorian of RCHS Class of 2007

Twenty-two honor students will lead the Rogers City High School Class of 2007 during the June 3 graduation, with Andy Tulgestke, who earned a grade point average (GPA) of 3.97, as Valedictorian. Co-salutatorians are Chelsea Kreft, who earned a 3.92 GPA, and Tricia Frost, who had a 3.90 GPA, as well as additional weighted transfer honor courses.

Andy Tulgestke is the son of Mike and Kathy Tulgestke. He has been involved in basketball, cross country, and track during his high school career, earning an All-Conference Honorable Mention in basketball. He is a member of the National Honor Society, and was involved in the Educational Talent Search. Tulgestke also coached P.I.B.A. basketball. Tulgestke plans to attend Michigan

Technological University after graduation to earn a degree in mechanical engineering.

Chelsea Kreft is the daughter of Karen and Randy Kreft. She has been successful in both cross country and track throughout high school, and enjoys running, biking, swimming, drawing, and painting. She also enjoys listening to music, and spending time with her friends. Kreft has been an active participant in the RCHS Key Club, the D13 Youth Group, and the National Honor Society. After graduation, Kreft plans to attend Lake Superior State University to join its nursing program, and eventually earn a career as a registered nurse.

Tricia Frost is the daughter of Rose and Larry Frost. She has been active in the Key Club, the National Honor Society, and has served as treasurer of her class. Frost enjoys dance, cheerleading, reading, and listening to music. She plans to attend Central Michigan University after graduation to study psychology, earning a degree in secondary education.
