Five Hurons honored for volleyball performance

Several players earned honors at the state, regional and conference level for the Rogers City volleyball team. Coach Mary Fairbanks said individual honors are great, but it is often difficult to single out a particular player in a sport, which involves a total team effort, such as volleyball. ?Class C, I?m told, is one of the toughest in the state because there are a lot of girls who fit into that all-state mold. And it is tough to make the all-state team if your team doesn?t advance beyond the regional level,? she said. The coach was pleased her team made academic all-state with a 3.379 grade point average.
