Regional three-peat for Hurons

The Huron wrestling team earned a third consecutive regional, and eighth in school history, when they defeated Iron Mountain, 40-27, Wednesday at Munising. Rogers City (27-2) will face Bronson (26-4) March 2 at 1 p.m. in the Division IV quarterfinals. Rogers City edged Bronson, 33-32, two years ago in the semifinals, in not only a historic match, because it put the Hurons in their first finals, but it also provided one of the most exciting sports moments in school history, when Mark Grulke came through with an overtime victory to put Rogers City over the top.

In Wednesday?s regional semifinal match, the Hurons took care of St. Ignace, 47-18. More details, comments form the coach, and photos will appear in next week?s edition of The Advance.
