Tower couple has New Year?s baby
Holly Alexis Mehan was born at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital January 9, nearly three weeks past her due date.
But her timing was right on, as Holly was the first baby born in 2007 to area parents. The infant and her family are recipient of many gifts and services from area merchants as listed in an earlier edition of The Outlook.
Holly is the daughter of Mike Mehan and Laura Derosia of Tower. She is the couple?s first child.
Holly was born at 5:16 p.m. January 9, weighing 8 pounds and ? ounces. She was 20 inches in length.
Mother and daughter were doing fine at home, after her release from the hospital last Friday. After two failed attempts to induce labor, doctors decided to perform a Caesarian operation.

She said there were trips to the hospital every other day before Holly was born to see how she was doing. Laura was not worried because the new bundle of joy was moving and kicking all the time.
?She has been a good baby,? said Laura. She gets up every couple of hours during the night for feeding and is alert. She stared lovingly into her first-time mother eye?s during this reporter?s visit Wednesday afternoon. She also has a nice grip for a week-and-a-half old baby.
Holly?s birth came one day before an Onaway woman delivered a baby at CMH.
Her grandparents are Linda Derosia of Onaway and Don Derosia of Tower, as well as Judy Mehan of Petersburg. Evelyn Mehan of Adrian is Holly?s great grandmother.
