Julian and Pieczynski to lead Posen graduates for 2006

Principal Cliff Kelly is proud to announce that Posen High School will graduate 30 seniors on Friday, June 2. Eleven of those thirty class members will graduate with honors. The annual awards assembly is scheduled for Friday, May 26 at 9 a.m. The graduation mass at St. Casimir Church is Sunday, May 28 at 10:30 a.m., while class night will be Friday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. The 2006 valedictorian is Bethany Julian, daughter of Michael and Denise Julian, who earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Amanda Pieczynski, the daughter of Adam Pieczynski and Lori Barton, earned the honor of salutatorian with her 3.98 grade point average.

Bethany Julian has been actively involved in student council, Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD), Pep Club, Ski Club, Trip Club, and served as class officer. She is the president of her senior class, and also of the Trip Club, and has been a member of Educational Talent Search (ETS) for four years. She has participated in basketball and volleyball, and has excelled on the softball field all four years of her high school career. Julian received the student of the month at PHS in January of 2005. She earned Rookie of the Year in softball in 2003, and has received conference honors her freshman, sophomore and junior years. In 2005, she was the league MVP, and earned the Viking team Co-MVP award as well. After graduation, Julian plans on attending Lake Superior State University to pursue a degree in pre-medicine. Amanda Pieczynski has participated in basketball, volleyball, and softball all four years of her high school career, serving as captain of her volleyball team her senior year. She has been a key member of the PHS track team since her sophomore year, earning all conference honors. Pieczynski was named Scholar Athlete, and earned MVP awards in both

track and volleyball. She received second team all conference honors in volleyball her senior year. She has been a member of the National Honor Society since her sophomore year, serving as vice president as a senior. Pieczynski has been involved in Pep Club, Ski Club, SADD, ETS, Yearbook, Band, and Trip Club. She served as the Trip Club treasurer her senior year. She has earned recognition as an honor roll student, and student of the month. She received an award for perfect attendance, and an academic achievement award. After graduation, Pieczynski plans to attend Lake Superior State University to major in nursing.

Other honor grads are Rachel Beach, Gregory Schmitz, Meranda Mulka, Emily Perrault, Annette Cosgriff, Margaret Schmitz, Levi Burgess, Sarah Patterson, and Jeanette Rose.
