Millersburg to celebrate ?The Great Outdoors? over Labor Day Weekend

The village of Millersburg is gearing up for the annual Labor Day weekend festivities that will take place September 2-4. The theme of the holiday celebration is “The Great Outdoors.”

On Friday, September 2, songs and music will emanate from the United Methodist Church beginning at 7 p.m. The program is called “Singsportation” and is guaranteed to delight one and all.

On Saturday morning, the 5K Run/Walk gets under way with registration at 7:45 a.m. with the race beginning at 8:30 a.m. The Skeet and Muzzleloader Shoot will start at 10 a.m. Those wishing to take part in the fun should register at 9:30 a.m. Also following the parade will be a variety of Kids Games at the school yard for the little ones.

The Third Annual Hacker 3 on 3 Basketball tournament will begin at 2 p.m. at the Ocqueoc Baptistr Church. There is no registration fee so come one, come all.

The Kids River Raft Parade will start at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Brooks residence on the Ocqueoc River and the kids will float down river to Russell Memorial Park. Children are reminded to bring their own decorated rafts to the race.

The Duck Race will start at 6 p.m.

at Russell Memorial Park. Parents may purchase the ducks for their kids at the Mini Mart.

All day Saturday is designated as History Day and the Depot will display photographs and memorabilia from bygone days. On Sunday there will be a Bump and Run Race at 1:30 p.m. Registration and inspection is from 9 a.m. to noon and a mandatory drivers meeting is at 12:30 p.m.

During the intermission at the Bump and Run Race, the Fire Association Truck Raffle winner will be announced.

Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the fun, sponsored by the Millersburg-Ocqueoc Business Association, “Proudly Serving the Community Since 1980.”
