Hurons win, Vikings lose football openers

Rogers City used a 28 point outburst in the second quarter to power to a 46-0 win over Hillman Friday. Meanwhile in Cedarville, the Trojans handed Posen an 8-0 loss.

In Hillman, Huron senior Cody Wenzel scored three touchdowns, the first on an eight-yard run, the second on a 39-yard run, and the third on a 77-yard interception return to highlight a Huron offensive show.

At Cedarville, Richie Kroll rushed 21 times for 100 yards but four turnovers cost the Vikings. Cedarville scored with 5:44 left in the third quarter.

The two teams meet next week in Posen.
