Posen runners set personal records at Hale meet

The Posen track teams were in action in a four-way track meet at Hale High School on Tuesday. The Fairview Eagles continued to dominate, taking first in both men?s and women?s divisions. The small Posen squads came in fourth with the boys garnering 27 team points and the girls getting 32.5 points. Curtis Beach took second in the high jump clearing 5?8? and set a personal record in the 800-meter taking second place (2:13.34). Steve Lijewski set a personal record in the discus, taking fifth (101?10?). James Sobek took third place in the long jump (18?4.5?) and set personal records in the 100-meter (third, 11.75) and the 200-meter (second, 23.87). He also ran second in the 400-meter (53.46).

APOLLO SCHUCH (12.25) and Josh Worthington (12.43) also set personal records in the 100-meter dash. In the girls? events, Amanda Swan had a personal best in the discus (fourth, 78?1?) and Whitney Meeder set a school record in the pole vault (third, 6?6.1?). Amanda Pieczynski set personal records while taking first in the 100-meter (12.69) and the 200-meter dashes (27.05). She also shared first place honors with sister Megan, Meeder, and Michelle Mulka in the 1600-meter relay (4:12.1).

The girls also took third in the 3200-meter, 800-meter, and 400-meter relays. Both teams took fifth place at the relays in Gaylord on Friday. Meeder grabbed third place in the girls? 1600-meter run (6:00.1).
