Miss Rogers City to compete in Michigan Junior Miss Pageant Saturday in Alpena

Kristyn Blackmer, Miss Rogers City 2004, is among 22 high school seniors from across the state who will compete in the 47th annual Michigan’s Junior Miss scholarship competition Saturday in the Stanley C. Beck Auditorium at Alpena High School.

The Miss Rogers City Pageant is affiliated with the Junior Miss program for the first time this year, sending the local pageant winner to compete on the state level. Each contestant will be vying for the title of Michigan’s Junior Miss for 2005, a share of $6,500 in cash scholarship awards, and her choice of a variety of college-granted scholarships. The overall winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship award and will travel with all expenses paid to Mobile, Alabama., in June to take part in the 48th annual America’s Junior Miss National Finals.

She will compete there for the title of America’s Junior Miss and a share of more than $100,000 in cash scholarships.
