Wrestlers move on to team regionals

The Huron wrestlers kept their 19 year winning streak going with convincing wins at the team district in Onaway Thursday. Rogers City topped Mancelona 55-12 and Charlevoix, who had defeated Onaway in the first round, 69-9. Neither match was ever in doubt as Huron wrestlers dominated the mat. In the championship match, Dylan Centala started off the rout with a pin 51 seconds into the first round.

Cody Wenzel, Tyler Schuiteman, Matt Tomas, and Chase McLennan followed with pins to give the Hurons a 30-0 lead. Wins by Mark Grulke, Chris Rhode, Tyler Gorlewski, Scott Kamyszek, Brian Krueger, and Brent Freel powered the win.

The team will travel to Munising for the team regionals Wednesday, February 23.
