Junior high wrestling

Last Friday 10 junior high students participated in the Gaylord junior high tournament which consisted of eight teams (Gaylord, Grayling, Alpena, Rudyard, St. Ignace, Traverse City East, Traverse City West and Rogers City). Jacob Vogler and Jordan Zempel both won all three of their matches to capture first place in their respective brackets.

Ben Tulgestke, Zak McLennan and Noah Farmer placed second and Cameron Wilk, Jacob Reisner, Kevin Fairbanks and Jon Claus finished in third. “The boys wrestled well considering that this was their first event of the year,” said coach Chad Coolman. “They were aggressive the whole time and were able to learn from their mistakes and improve as the tournament when on.”
