There were a few anxious moments for an Onaway mother last Thursday. She had been walking in the woods with her two-year-old boy when she lost sight of him. It’s unclear how long the mother searched for her son before calling the sheriff’s department just before 4 p.m. The dispatchers sent the Case Township Fire Department to the scene and a K-9 unit from Gaylord was on its way. Fire chief Doug Jarvis located the boy 38 minutes after the mother placed the 911 call. Jarvis said the boy was “fine.”
