Sheriff’s report week 36

A Posen man was hospitalized following a two-vehicle accident Monday at 2:05 p.m. on M-65 in Posen Township. Timothy Lee Strzelecki, 44, was traveling southbound on M-65 in a 1994 Chevy pickup, attempting to make a left-handed turn, south of 634 Highway. Another vehicle driven by Michael Edward Keegan, 33, of Hillman was behind the Strzelecki vehicle and Keegan told officers he did not see the brake lights or turn signal light. His vehicle rear-ended Strzelecki’s vehicle.

The impact forced both vehicles off the road, with one of them continuing into the residence of Tom Smart. Smart’s home was damaged, along with a gas meter. Emergency crews were able to get the gas shut off before there was further damage or injuries. Strzelecki was transported to Alpena General Hospital by Life Link Ambulance were he was admitted. He was discharged Tuesday morning. Keegan was cited in the incident.

Mark Kinney of Presque Isle reported a possible larceny Saturday at 7:25 p.m. He was swimming at the Presque Isle Clubhouse and found $25 to $30 missing from his wallet when he was getting ready to leave. The case remains under investigation.

There was a 911 call Saturday at 6:18 a.m. from a person who found a man laying in the ditch near the Allis Township Cemetery. The individual, according to reports, was snoring. Officers talked with him later and he was okay.
