New website has Onaway area news on the WWW at PIAdvance.com

Readers of the Onaway Outlook will have a website to get local news, as will the entire world, via the World Wide Web. Beginning in December, Presque Isle Newspapers, publishers of the Outlook and the Presque Isle County Advance, launched a website to put a slice of their community news coverage on the internet. The site will be updated at least once a week.

Readers will see stories from that week’s edition of the Outlook as well as weather information, a photo gallery, classified ads, obituaries and advertisements from local businesses. The business directory will get more complete as businesses sign up for the service. A special business directory will be offered to businesses which will have the ability to link their listing to a businesses website.

“We are confident this service will add another option for our readers and get information about the county out in another format in addition to our weekly newspapers,” said PIN publisher Richard Lamb. “It is our intention to make the website the best source of information about the county, just as we strive to do each week with the Outlook and the Advance.”

The website was developed by Dennis Smolinski, a graduate of Rogers City High School and a recent masters degree graduate in Computer Science from Ferris State University. For information on having Smolinski construct a website, see his link on the bottom of this page.
